Whitewater Hotel & Spa - Newby Bridge

3-star riverside hotel in a historic 19th-century mill

A Converted 19th-Century Mill on the River Leven

Whitewater Hotel & Spa Newby Bridge occupies a former 19th-century mill on the banks of the River Leven. The hotel's two terraces overlook the river and offer views of passing steam trains from the Haverthwaite Steam Rail Station, located 2 km away. Executive rooms provide direct river views, while all rooms include a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee, and a seating area.

Cascades Health and Fitness Club

All Whitewater Hotel guests receive complimentary access to the Cascades Health and Fitness Club, which includes a gym, whirlpool, sauna, and swimming pool. The leisure club also offers a steam room, squash courts, and tennis courts on site. The facility is located across an internal bridge from the main hotel building.

Cascades Spa with Elemis

The Whitewater Hotel & Spa houses a recognized Elemis Salon offering specialized beauty treatments by highly trained therapists. Spa facilities include a thermal lounge, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and a range of services such as body wraps, facials, and couples massage. Guests can also use the spa's relaxation area and locker rooms during their stay.

Riverside Dining

The hotel operates two on-site restaurants: the Riverside Restaurant and the Dolly Blue Bar & Grill. Both venues use local produce in seasonal menus, with a scenic terrace available for alfresco dining overlooking the river. Breakfast is served buffet-style, and special diet menus are available on request.

Family and Pet-Friendly Accommodations

Families can use the children's playground and borrow board games from the hotel's shared lounge area.
